This advanced class will build on the fighting fundamentals learned from AKnowledge: The Fundamentals seminars.

The focus will be on developing more robust fighting skills that accommodate each individual students shooting competency. 

Study of movement, ambidextrous weapon handling during the engagement, multitasking, lowered fighting platforms, advanced concepts of horizontal, vertical and directional displacement, advanced cornering geometry and using the rifle in combative realm (retention, takedowns, strikes) will be addressed. 

This is a physically and mentally demanding and challenging class. 

Your mind, body, equipment, and gear will be put to the test through rigorous drills and challenges.


  • Elevating weapon handling to a state of free flow
  • Re-engineering shooting platform for mobility

  • Initiation of action from 3 levels
  • 360-degree coverage from 3 levels
  • Cornering geometry
  • Concepts of L, T, cross intersections and their utilization for entries.
  • Rifle as an alternative force tool: use of biomechanics and geometry in the combative realm of weapon retention, take-downs and impact work.

NOTES: Participation is limited to 16 students. Absolutely no videography.

What to bring:

  • One very open mind
  • One ready to work body
  • AK pattern rifle with a sling (2 point preferred). You can get one at www.originalsoegear.com
    (AR or any other intermediate cartridge semiautomatic or selective-fire rifle with detachable magazine is OK)
  • Minimum of 6 magazines for your rifle (Two magazines will remain unloaded at all times.)
  • Handgun with quality holster (You can find one here: www.greenforcetactical.com or www.nsrtactical.com)
  • Minimum of two (2) magazines for your handgun
  • Knee pads and elbow pads highly recommended.
  • 450 rounds of rifle ammunition
  • 100 rounds of handgun ammunition
  • If available- five rounds of snap caps/dummy rounds of appropriate caliber for your rifle
  • Quality eye protection and hearing protection
  • Your carry trauma kit
  • Note-taking materials
  • Hydration and snacks
